Microsoft Windows 8.1 Blue Preview to be Released in Late June

Microsoft has confirmed that the next update of the recently released Windows 8 will be released for the developers in late june. The update is coded as Windows 8.1 Blue.

Speaking at the Wired Business Conference in New York Julie Larson-Green, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Windows, said that the Windows 8.1 Blue will be available for developers in late June but she did not announce all the details about the Windows 8.1 Blue. She also said that Microsoft is working on enabling new kinds of hardware and software and also to bring innovative products.

During the conference, Julie Larson-Green also spoke about the possibility of inheriting the certain features of older windows and redefining them in the new version. This statement hinted that the Start Button could make a comeback in Windows 8.1 Blue. However, she didn’t reveal all the details and said that Microsoft believes in the start screen in Windows 8 and having live tiles.

If you remember Windows 8 was launched six months ago and it received mixed reviews. There was a drastic change in the design of Windows 8 from Windows 7. The presence of live tiles gave a spectacular look to Windows 8.

Recently, Microsoft announced that more than 100 million Windows 8 licences were sold in six months.
