Avoid the heavy hitters that drain your  moto g battery life

Applications like Themer, Go Launcher and other applications which are graphically intense consume a lot of RAM while running, there by consuming a lot of battery. If you still want to use custom launchers and avoid draining your battery, we recommend less intensive launchers such as Apex or Nova.

Update all your Softwares

It is needless to say that each firmware update brings fixes and features that improves the performance of the device. Each and every update helps in better management of power resource. Most of the Moto G mobiles have been running on Android KitKat 4.4.2  and Motorola has rolled out Android KitKat 4.4.3 for most of countries. If you haven’t updated it yet, head over to settings > About Telephone > System Updates and check over there for update.

Disable WiFi and Bluetooth

Many just turn on their WiFi and Bluetooth and forget to turn them off after they are done with their usage. Remember that by doing so you lose most of your valuable  battery life.Having your device constantly searching for Bluetooth and WiFi connections, you are losing the battery faster. To have more battery backup you can enable/disable both from Quick Settings panel. WiFi optimization in your WiFi settings also help you to reduce the strain on your device.

Selective Mobile Network is another key point

If you are not using the mobile data, why do you  let it consume the battery? You can change your settings so that you can use only 2G networks for calls and messages, if your want to surf or browse then switch to 3G. You can save a lot of battery by doing so. You can toggle between 2G and 3G by  following this path, Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode.

Check location settings

Some apps like Google maps, navigation services, those which track and update weather etc, use your GPS coordinates and location settings to help track where your device is  or where you are currently located. All these things can quickly suck your moto g battery life. In order to turn this off, go to settings and in location turn it off. The path is Settings > Location and then turn off location services by default.

Synchronization of data

For battery conservation, choosing and picking what automatically syncs across your devices is important. If you are not careful, whenever you take a photo it will be uploaded automatically by default and can drain your battery. To conserve your battery life, you can selectively choose things for synchronization. For doing this, check out for settings. The path is Settings > Accounts > Google > Synchronization.

Check Sleep Timer

How long does your Moto G take to sleep when you are not using it? If it takes longer than a minute then it is  your display that is mainly draining out your battery. You can change this by reducing the sleep time. To reduce it, head over to Settings > Display > Sleep, and change it over there. We advise you to keep it under a minute to enhance your moto g battery life.

Adjust brightness

The battery backup of your Moto G depends on the brightness level you set. It is advised to set brightness to “Auto” in the Quick Settings.

Apps that increase battery life

Apps like Battery Doctor and Greenify help you preserve battery. These help you know which apps consume more resources based on your usage and so that you can regulate their usage.
